The pin in Wrestling is still the best way to win.
When the rules of wrestling change, so do the technical trends. There was a time the fall or pin was the ultimate goal.
Sometimes I think it takes more effort to turn or tilt a wrestler than it would to turn and pin them. I visited a local club practice and was pleased to hear the coach talk about pinning.
I did have a camera with me and asked if I could record the session's technical instruction. Below is a short 5 minute video of Coach Shane Comeau showing his near wrist series.
Shane coaches St. Ignatius High School in Thunder Bay, Ontario. His men's and women's teams have won tournaments locally, regionally and provincially. Shane has coached a number of provincial and national medal winners.
